Is NASCAR letting the almighty dollar control too much?
It used to be the Daytona 500 started at 12:30 on a Sunday. You'd have driver introductions, the invocation, the national anthem, then start your engines and roll off pit road.
Now the race doesn't start until 2:00 or 2:30, you've got two hours of meaningless pre-race "entertainment", boring commercial breaks, and seemingly inane announcers who don't know racing from their own arse.
Is over commercialization hurting NASCAR? Is the sport suffering?
